James Richard Donaldson, 69, of Cullman, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 23, 2019. He was born November 19, 1949, to Hobert and Lazette Crawford Donaldson.
Mr. Donaldson was a coal miner by trade and worked for Drummond Company for many years. He never met a stranger and loved spending time with his friends. James loved to laugh and was always ready with a joke or funny comment. He enjoyed deer hunting in his spare time, but his favorite thing to do was to watch a John Wayne movie. Mr. Donaldson was a child of Christ and man of prayer. James and his wife, Heather, worshiped at Temple Baptist Church. We are comforted during this time knowing that he is in the presence of our loving Father.
James was welcomed into heaven by his parents, Hobert and Lazette Donaldson, and a brother, Joseph Eugene Donaldson.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Heather Hughes Donaldson; sons, Jonathan (Brandy) Donaldson, James Richard (Audra) Donaldson II; daughters, Melinda (Johnny) Bowlin, McKinsey (Lem) Walker; brother, Mark Wayne Donaldson; and five grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Donaldson are 12 noon, Saturday, May 25, 2019, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Buchan Jackson, Pastor Johnny Bowlin, and Pastor Roger Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery. Wayne Trucks, Steve Starnes, Todd Trucks, Nate Ayers, Justin Rohrscheib, Dale Benefield, and Butch Elmore will serve as pallbearers. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 25, 2019, from 11 a.m. until services begin at 12 noon, at the funeral home.
Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve the Donaldson family.
