Leslie Eugene Reid

Leslie Eugene Reid, 87, of Hanceville, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018. He was born July 5, 1931 to Leslie Boyd and Ella Beatrice Lewis Reid.

Mr. Reid was a machine operator and worked for Daubert before his retirement.

Eugene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Often referring to those he loved by the special nickname he had given each of them, Eugene loved his family and enjoyed being in their presence. He was a special man and will be missed greatly by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Ella Reid; wife, Melba Rhea Holcombe Reid; five brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Freeda Gregory Reid; sons, Kenny (Cindy) Reid, Jerry (Linda) Reid, Richard (Patty) Reid, Jeffrey Reid; daughter, Linda (Travis) White; sister, Opal Young; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Reid will be Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 2 p.m. in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Jeremy Collier officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until the service begins at 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will follow services in Holly Pond Cemetery.
