Lonnie William Harris Jr., of Cullman, Alabama, passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 76. Mr. Harris was born on May 3, 1948, to Lonnie William Harris, Sr., and Betty Francis Cornelius Harris.

Lonnie was a hard-working man who spent many years maintaining and repairing the refrigeration system of the chicken plant, and he also maintained a thriving farm. Mr. Harris raised cattle, and he was a beekeeper as well. He found a ride around the farm on his mule brought him peace as he looked across the beauty of the land and the crops and animals he raised. Lonnie enjoyed the outdoors and loved to dove hunt when he found the time.

Mr. Harris was also a family man. He and his wife, Donna, were married for 50 years and had two children together, and they were thrilled when they were blessed with four grandchildren. Mr. Harris leaves behind a legacy of dedication, love, and devotion and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Harris is preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to cherish the memory of Mr. Harris includes his beloved wife, Donna Malone Harris; children, Brandi Harris Tapscott (Matthew), Brandon Harris; grandchildren, Ethan Tapscott, Adalynn Tapscott, Brody Harris, and Cooper Harris; brother, Daryl Harris (Jo); nephew, Anthony Harris; and a host of loving family and friends.

The Harris family will host a Celebration of Life for Mr. Harris on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 3 o’clock p.m. Services will be held at Duck River Baptist Church with pastor Caleb Elrod officiating.
