Martha Jane Moore

Martha Jane Moore, 64, of Arab, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2018. Mrs. Moore was born June 6, 1953 to Ruth Benefield Hardin.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was a cook for many years and worked at Waterbrook Restaurant in Holly Pond, and also at JR’s. Martha loved to garden and to preserve what she grew by canning.  She also loved to teach life lessons to her family, in the funniest possible way.

Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her mother; her husband, Joe Moore; brother, Bobby Hardin; sisters, Fay Thomas and Katherine; and brother-in-law, Vyron Dye.

Survivors include her son, Donald Moore (Jennifer); sisters, Joyce Blackman (Ricky) and Esther Dye; two granddaughters, Kyla and Dakota Moore; and a grandson, Dylan Moore.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Moore will be laid to rest alongside her husband in Holly Pond Cemetery following services.  Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 11, 2018, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Shane Martin, James Johnson, Dashawn Hansand, Derrick Bryant, Chad Bryant, Kevin Bryant, Michael Hardin, and Jody Thomas will serve as bearers for Mrs. Moore.
