Phillip Ralph Stephens, 83, of Hanceville, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019. He was born April 28, 1936, in Blount County, to George Washington and Roxie Chambers Stephens.
Mr. Stephens was a member of Pleasant View Missionary Baptist Church.
Mr. Stephens is preceded in death by his parents, George Washington and Roxie Chambers Stephens; wife, Frances E. Harper Stephens; brothers, Hubert Stephens, Arlin Stephens; and sisters, Ozell Millwoood, Wynell Nelson.
Survivors include son, Phillip G. Stephens; daughters, Nina (Bruce) Ellard, Norma (George) Liles; sister, Genett Holmes; eight grandchildren, Matthew (Amy) Ellard, Aaron Ellard, Kelsey (Drew) Norris, Savannah Stephens, Emma Stephens, Ashlyn Stephens, Paige (Russ) Cranford, Johnny (Anna) Liles; six great-grandchildren, Owen Ellard, Mattie Mae Ellard, Tripp Cranford, Lexi Cranford, Audrey Liles, and Jay Liles.
Funeral services for Mr. Stephens are 2 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2019, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Delbert Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to services, from 12 noon until services begin.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in memory of Mr. Stephens.
